Your feeling of dependence will drive you to prayer, and your sense of duty summon you to effort. Pr 83.5ĭivine Power Awaits Those Who Want It-You may have a deep and abiding sense of eternal things and that love for humanity which Christ has shown in His life. Unless, this is so, we shall never be successful in breaking down pride and overcoming the power of temptation to sinful indulgences which keep us from the Saviour. When we are surrounded by influences calculated to lead us away from God, our petitions for help and strength must be unwearied. In order that we may be kept by the power of God through faith, the desires of the mind should be continually ascending in silent prayer. The temptations to which we are daily exposed make prayer a necessity. Prayer Keeps Us in God's Power-The strength acquired in prayer to God will prepare us for our daily duties. Pr 83.4 We continually have new scenes and new trials to pass through, where past experience cannot be a sufficient guide. We are seldom, in all respects, placed in the same position twice. Prayer and faith will do what no power on earth can accomplish. We Do Not Value the Power of Prayer as We Should-We do not value the power and efficacy of prayer as we should. We are receiving a divine education, and this is illustrated in a life of diligence and zeal. There will be a growing intelligence in prayer.
